OIL CLEANSING BALM ( HOT CLOTH CLEANSER)

I love how deeply healing this  cleansing balm is, my skin always feels so soft and moisturised when I use it.

Its easy to make and you can find most of the ingredients at your local health food shop or online

Let's get started!!! Always work in a clean work area & make sure all your bottles and tools are clean and sterilized.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
  • 20 grams Shea Butter
  • 20 grams Castor Oil
  • 35 grams ( of additional carrier oils – see below for recommendations for Dry or Acne Prone skin)
  • 20 grams natural Beeswax or Candelilla wax if you are vegan
  • Jars or container ( not plastic) to keep product in. I like using the small mini jam size mason jars.
Acne Prone Skin : use a lighter oil such as Neem Oil, Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Apricot Seed Oil, Hazelnut Oil.  My personal pick for acne issues if Jojoba Oil and it is the oil that is closest to the natural level of sebum in our own skin.
Additional Active Ingredients  ( Resurface Skin  )
  • 1 gram Alpha Lipoic Acid
  • 3 grams Vitamin C Ester
STEP-BY-STEP DIRECTIONS:
1) In a double boiler, combine the castor oil, additional carrier oils, shea butter, and beeswax.  Stir on medium heat until beeswax and shea butter are melted.
2) Remove from the butter/oils from heat.
3) Wait for the product to cool a bit, but while it is still warm
4) Add Alpha Lipoic Acid & Vitamin C Ester , stir well until dissolved
4) Now your product is ready to pour into your jars and let it cool. Once it has cooled and solidified,  put the lid on and then apply a label with the product name. If it’s for a gift, get creative:-)
This product has a shelf-life of approx 6 months. Try not to get water into the product jar as it creates bacteria and reduces the shelf-life.
TO USE:
Use a wooden spatula or plastic spoon to scoop out some product and warm it up in your hands so it melts a bit. Massage it into your face with gentle circular motions.  Keep massaging for about 2 minutes focusing on the areas that need extra TLC.  Soak your face cloth in hot water and place the cloth over your face for 1-2 mins. Rinse off your cloth and repeat this 2-3 times and then gently wipe off excess cleanser.** Note- the washcloth should never be scalding hot as you don’t want to burn yourself. If should be hot enough ( but comfortable) to allow emulsification and penetration of the product on your skin.
